60s Bachelor Pad Records and more! Reselling - What I Sold! Tom Ray's Pop Culture Roadshow

What pop culture and vintage things sold today

Hey! Let's take a look at some of the vintage toys games and books from the 90s to the 50s that i sold online today.

Vintage Miss Piggy Muppet Babies Doll

First up is something that is actually really popular when I get them even though it's mainly for Christmas.

A Christmas Muppet Babies Miss Piggy doll. So it's not just Miss Piggy, it's not just Christmas-themed, but it's from the Muppet Babies.

It is part of a set that has Fozzie bear and Kermit the frog. This time around I just have this one.

You would think there'd be a Scooter and Animal and Gonzo one too? But no, just the three of them for this doll line.

Blues for a stripper record from 1962

Here is a record called "Blues for a stripper" this is during the bachelor pad music phase of the 1960s.

The album is from 1962 and it's by Mundell Lowell. The music is space-age bachelor pad music the way people in the 1960s believed music would sound in the future of the 1980s.

The Merry Widow 45 record box set

picture of album cover with illustrations

This is a box set that's called The Merry Widow. It's a box set that if you open it up normally they have their own little separate sleeves for the records. But inside this one, it's just a pile of 45s. Not sure why.

I got it mainly because I liked the illustration on the box.

Music from Gigi - 45 record

This is a 7-inch record featuring songs from the motion picture Gigi. The songs feature Tony Martin and Denon Dennis Fernand's orchestra

Again I bought this because I liked the really neat big red font on the cover.

The Belle of New York 45 record box set

Here is another box set and this one is Fred Astaire in "The belle of New York".

It's from the technicolor musical and again I basically got this because Fred Astaire was on it. It's one of those things where if it has a recognizable actor or something like that I'll pick it up usually.

I always keep an eye out for these because people like fancy sets of movie soundtracks.

Humpty Dumpty Frame Tray Puzzle from 1987

picture of man holding puzzle with illustration on it

Here's an illustrated frame tray puzzle from 1987 with the nursery rhyme character Humpty Dumpty.

It's just Humpty Dumpty falling off the wall on the puzzle. He's having the big fall, we all know the rhyme.

This puzzle is one of those you would get say in a grocery store as an impulse buy. It's got the little divot at the top so you can just hang it in the checkout line.

I always wonder how they found the people to do the artwork for these frame tray puzzles. Did they have artists they would hire or did the people that make them just draw them?

I have so many frame tray puzzles and some of them have really elaborate art on them.

Vintage Holly Hobbie metal trash can

One last thing that sold today is a Holly Hobbie metal trash can from the 80s.

You don't really run into metal trash cans for kids' rooms anymore. Of course, I haven't had to buy one in a long time.

That's what sold!

So that's all the vintage and pop culture items that I sold today.

If you want to keep seeing more of the things that I sell and reflect on nostalgic toys and games, don't forget to subscribe to the youtube channel.
