A look at some drawings in the 1993 Batman The Animated Series Coloring Book
In 1992 Batman: The Animated Series changed the DC and animated cartoons forever.
The series conveyed the dark mood of the original "Batman" comic books that were happening in the 90s but also portrayed a film noir style.
Batman: The Animated Series even created new characters that were eventually used in the comic books themselves.
One of them was Officer Renee Montoya who first appeared in the cartoon episode "Joker's Favor".
Montoya was the original partner of Harvey Bullock who did already exist in the comic books.

The Animated Series had 109 episodes before it was canceled.
Batman The Animated Series even had some of the best storylines based on the villains like Mr. Freeze, Clayface, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Two-Face, and the Penguin to name a few.
And of course the joker.
